February 29, 2016 Presenting Denver

Apex Dance is back with a new and revised version of our hit show, Pixelated! We have delved deeper into the technology and storyline to bring you a stunning evening of dance.

Dance is connections. We watch a dance performance and are confronted viscerally with the performers. We go out to dance at a club and connect with others, the music, the beat, the energy. The act of dancing creates connections within us to something. In this technologically dominated world, true human connection seems to be getting lost in the cyber mix. Our search for universal purpose, for affection, for understanding ourselves, and others has not changed. Apex Dance has created Pixelated to dig into these ideas and questions. Can we use technology to connect with each other? What is the place for dance in this technology driven world?

Pixelated is based on the Greek myth “Pygmalion”, a love story about a sculptor who falls in love with his creation. With a bit of digital flare, Pixelated has been adapted to reflect the world now. Apex Dance artists bring to life choreographer David Reuille’s reimagined love story. In this redux version of Pixelated we have added stunning digital effects, and a fully realized set designed by New York designer Lauren Mills. The story takes you into love, loss, and love again.

We welcome you to join us for this next evolution of an amazing story and visually stunning experience.
