I signed up for the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Street Jazz Fusion class led by Cedric Hall. Can I just tell you – what a great way to start a Saturday!! Now, I have probably 3 left feet and wiggle more than I should when a beat comes alive, but what entertainment.
Our space within the Studio Loft was on a raised portable floor. With about 50 of us, it was full, but not over crowded. Dancers ranged from toddler to senior. Skill level was all across the board and it could be debated on whether or not I brought down the average. The one hour and fifteen minute class included a warm-up, brief technique instruction and then a choreographed piece. We fluttered, kicked, popped and spun. One of our group members was even in a wheelchair. The open, safe space for all who wanted to attempt dance was refreshing and enjoyable.
I was only available for the morning session. Information listed the afternoon to consist of professional dance performances and a youth dance competition.
Presenting Denver hosted a table during the lunch hour and worked to spread the word on all we do to link dance within the Denver metro area.
Hats off to Brooke Dilling, Special Events Coordinator, Denver Arts and Venues! The event was well organized and brought many out to experience dance on a glorious Saturday morning. It truly started my weekend with a smile.

She is also a graduate of Naropa University holding a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing and Poetics from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Her passion and enthusiasm for the kinetic arts will frolic and frenzy through the upcoming season of performances with many hopes for an encore!
