The Museum of Contemporary Art and Presenting Denver Event

Solos, duets and trios to be performed in locations around MCA, that can convey the aesthetic legacies and traditions of Black Culture in the African American South as seen through the lens of contemporary Black musical expression. Occupying all three floors of galleries at MCA Denver, The Dirty South: Contemporary Art, Material Culture, and the Sonic Impulse will make visible the roots of Southern hip hop culture and reveal how the aesthetic traditions of the African American South have shaped visual art and musical expression over the last 100 years.
