Presenting Denver: If you are not a native, why did you choose Denver?

Holly Collins Tomazin: I relocated because of my ex-husband’s job. I chose to stay.

PD: Do you split your time between dance/arts and another vocation?

HCT: No, I teach dance full-time.

PD: What do you do in your spare time?

HCT: In my spare time I produce videos of Historically Accurate Princess Dances filmed on location at Colorado castles in costume. I then donate them for the use in two kids’ clubs: Quest Club for kids and Frontier Girls.

PD: If you are involved in any cross-promotion or collaboration across artistic genres, please share!

HCT: I have had the privilege of working with the Arapahoe Philharmonic in a concert and dance series on Dances of Love. https://www.adventuresindance.com/2015/02/dances-of-love-with-the-arapahoe-philharmonic/

PD: Tell us about a defining moment in your dance life, something that you always refer back to with a smile for motivation and inspiration.

HCT: When I was in kindergarten my mom put me in a tap dance class. I loved it but it was traumatic for her. When everyone went right, I went left. She then banned me from dance to protect me from failure. Later in life we discovered I am dyslexic. Left on my own in college to choose what classes I wanted to take, I tried dance again. From there I pursed ballroom dance and have made it my career. My past taught me to fail well. I do not let the possibility of failure stop me now.
