Hello Dance Families!

Evolve Dance Project (EDP) will be hosting their second annual summer dance intensive this summer for two weeks on July 22-August 2nd (Mon-Fri) from 9 am – 4pm. There will be an informal student showcase on August 2nd at 7pm with EDP in the Jackson Theater. EDP will be offering an array of technique classes and excited to have Megan Knaus as our guest artist, focusing on ballet, variations, and modern. Megan has a remarkable resume and is attached below:

Megan Knaus is excited to be back teaching in the studios and performing on the stage she grew up dancing on. From the ages of twelve to seventeen she danced with Sangre De Cristo Ballet Theatre professionally with and taught classes with the schools affiliated with: Corpus Christi Ballet (2001-2003), City Ballet of San Diego (2003-2007), and Ballet Nouveau Colorado (now known as Wonderbound – company dancer 2007-2011, teacher 2007=2015). She has also been able to dance internationally: in Niece, France (college exchange the summer of 2000) and in the Moscow International Ballet Competition (summer of 2006). Megan has been able to work with many choreographers including: Garrett Ammon, Ma Cong, Alex Ketley, Joshua Blake-Carter, and Elizabeth Wistrich. Favorite roles include: Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet” (by Dianna Cuatto-Kessler), Black Swan in “Swan Lake”, Carmen in “Carmen” (by Elizabeth Wistrich), lead roles in Balanchine ballets “Apollo”, “Agon”, “Serenade”, and “Rubies”, as well as “Kill the Anthem” and “Happiness” (by Alex Ketley). Megan went on to obtain her Masters in Counseling from Colorado Christian University in 2015 and is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addictions Counselor who has worked with the Denver Rescue Mission and Health Solutions as an adult outpatient clinician. Megan moved back to the Pueblo area with her husband, Forrest Knaus, in 2015 and is currently a stay-at-home mom with two boys ages seven and four. She is so glad to be dancing and teaching again!

The Nutcracker audition will be Saturday, July 27 and this gives students a great opportunity to get into shape for that audition as well as the upcoming fall semester.

Attached is our flyer as well as our schedule, which is divided into two levels. If your child is in level 4 at the SOD, he/she qualifies to participate in the intensive regardless of age.

You will need to create an account and choose the intensive-4-8 for the weeks your child is participating.
