Boulder-based and globally-minded, Andrea Jayne Martin is Artistic Director of ethereum dance co. and a Performance Coach at Arroyo and Co. She is a graduate of Rhode Island College and holds a B.A. in Dance Performance, a B.A. in Management, a Certificate in Non-Profit Studies, and a Minor in International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOS).

Martin describes her life’s work as “connecting, inspiring, [and] impacting.” This mission is echoed in the descriptive statement of ethereum dance co., which identifies as “a movement collective elevating human existence through intentional, exploratory performance art.” Martin points out that, because the company’s work is site-specific, “the challenge is always tailoring the work to the setting with enough flexibility for the setting to influence the work in the moment: everything from the weather to the unexpected entry of a butterfly to the energy of the audience. The piece evolves into something completely new each time.”
It will be exciting to see what results for Presenting Denver’s Wine & Works-in-Progress Feedback Session on March 8, 2019. As a community, we are fortunate to have an additional opportunity to experience that evolution. One night only, Friday April 19, 2019, outside of and beyond the traditional theater setting (at beautiful Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms), ethereum dance co. will present a site-specific, interactive “art crawl,” Creatio.
Jane E. Werle: As an infant Jane E. Werle, unable to protest, was removed from Colorado by her well-meaning parents. In 2004 she was able to rectify this error when she relocated from Massachusetts to Boulder for graduate school. One M.F.A. and a husband later, Jane works to further the arts in the Front Range as a writer/editor and dance enthusiast (no-shame, first-on-the-floor amateur– despite some training– dancer). Jane is also a longtime nanny and a visual artist, taking one of these very seriously and the other as a growth experience. Every child she’s cared for has experienced some form of the SDP: Spontaneous Dance Party.
