Julie is a Colorado transplant originally from San Diego via an 8-year stint in New York City. She took her first ballet class at the age of 17, having had no prior dancing experience. Ballet captured her imagination immediately. Her undergraduate degree is in Computer Science and she was a web developer and product manager for several years while continuing ballet on the side, not knowing the capacity that dance would have in her life. Knowing that ballet was her passion, alongside her career, she earned a dance minor from Pace University, trained in both youth summer intensive programs and adult programs, and studied privately for over a decade. She became a ballet teacher when her private coach suddenly fell ill and passed her private coaching business along to Julie. In 2017, Julie opened Broche Ballet, a ballet school just for grownups in Denver, Colorado, which has now 3 locations in Denver and Englewood. Instructing and expanding Broche Ballet is a dream-come-true for her, and an incredible privilege to be able create a place for adults like her to learn ballet. She is thrilled to be a part of Presenting Denver to help bring dance to the public.
