Established in 1961 by Lillian Covillo and Freidann Parker, Colorado Ballet presents world-class classical ballet and contemporary dance in Denver. Colorado Ballet is a non-profit organization that enhances the cultural life of Colorado through performances of the professional Company, training at the Academy, and Education & Community Engagement programs.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Gil Boggs and his artistic team, Colorado Ballet remains committed to producing the highest quality dance. Colorado Ballet’s performance seasons feature technically-challenging classical ballet with innovative contemporary premieres at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and the June Swaner Gates Concert Hall in the Newman Center for the Performing Arts. The Colorado Ballet Orchestra performs with the Company during performances at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.
Colorado Ballet Academy provides training to students ages 1 1/2 through adult, beginner through professional. The Academy has honed the dance skills of thousands of students and started the careers of many professional dancers. The Academy provides the highest quality dance training to all students in a professional environment.
Education and Community Engagement programs serve in-need students, teachers, families, people with disabilities and lifelong learners in Colorado. These programs make 50,000 contacts each year in 225 schools and organizations.
