ABOUT THE SCHIFF DANCE COLLECTIVE
Since founded in 2006 by Artistic Director, Jenny Schiff, The Schiff Dance Collective has been Schiffting audiences throughout Colorado. Using human themes and stories gathered from their community to create choreographic works, they strive to make dance relatable to a larger audience and create community through the arts. Having presented 11 evening length works and commissions they have been described as “stunning”, “a fresh look”, and “powerful”. Through performances, instruction, and outreach The Schiff Dance Collective aids the community in finding the truth and passion in their lives through movement.
ABOUT JENNY SCHIFF
During Jenny Schiff’s 25 year career she has worked with some of today’s finest choreographers including; Joe Tremaine, Doug Caldwell, Mia Michaels, Marguerite Derricks, Rudy Perez, Karon Brown-Lehman, Donald McKayle, and Cleo Parker Robinson. She has been a guest artist at Colorado College, University of Northern Colorado, the Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, The American College Dance Association, The Boston Conservatory, and Taipei National University Of The Arts, Taiwan, to name a few. Since founding The Schiff Dance Collective in 2006 she has created 10 original evening length contemporary dance works and the improvisation technique Schiffting.

MASTER CLASS AND PREVIEW PERFORMANCE SERIES

As part of the Presenting Denver Dance Festival Master Class and Preview Performance Series, Jenny will be teaching a schiff-ting master class for students ages 10 years or older on May 19, 2018 from 3:30-5:00pm. No previous dance experience is required to take this class. Jenny will also be showing a sneak peek of the work she is creating for the dance festival from 2:45-3:45pm. The informal showing will be followed by a short audience Q/A with the artists as well as a reception. Both events will take place at Mercury Academy of Dance. Learn more.

Main Stage | New & Now
The 2018 Presenting Denver Dance Festival, co-presented by Presenting Denver and The Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts, will be a compilation of world premieres by Colorado artists Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement, Edgar L. Page, Gregory Gonzales, Hannah Kahn Dance Company, Helanius J. Wilkins, Kristen Demaree, Moraporvida Contemporary Dance, and The Schiff Dance Collective. These main stage artists will perform in the New & Now concert in the Byron Theatre on June 23-24, 2018. There will be additional dance activities over the weekend and throughout the year.
