ABOUT DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR
Delusions of Grandeur was founded by Kristen Demaree and Elvira Stewart in 2005. The mission of this company has always been to create new works in collaboration with other artists. This year, their artistic vision seeks to create new mythologies in ballet based on the rich history of gesture in ballet. Working with local dancers, their work is sympathetic to the body while incorporating poetic narrative and a feminist perspective that utilizes ballet as a revolutionary force.
ABOUT KRISTEN DEMAREE
Kristen Demaree is a dancer, musician, film maker, educator who grew up in Boulder, Colorado. She trained with her mother Barbara Demaree at “Ballet Arts Boulder”, received her BFA in Film studies and MFA in dance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has created numerous works for Delusions of Grandeur, as well as teaching ballet at Boulder Ballet and Longmont Dance Theater. Most recently, Kristen Demaree choreographed and directed the full production premiere of Jim Stephenson’s “The Devil’s Tale” in collaboration with University of Colorado College of Music.

MASTER CLASS AND PREVIEW PERFORMANCE SERIES
FEBRUARY 17, 2018
As part of the Presenting Denver Dance Festival Master Class and Preview Performance Series, Kristen will be teaching an advanced ballet master class for pre-professional or professional students on February 17, 2018 from 3:30-5:00pm. Kristen will also be showing a sneak peek of the work she is creating for the dance festival from 2:45-3:45pm. The informal showing will be followed by a short audience Q/A with the artists as well as a reception. Both events will take place at Colorado Conservatory of Dance. Learn more.

Main Stage | New & Now
The 2018 Presenting Denver Dance Festival, co-presented by Presenting Denver and The Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts, will be a compilation of world premieres by Colorado artists Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement, Edgar L. Page, Gregory Gonzales, Hannah Kahn Dance Company, Helanius J. Wilkins, Kristen Demaree, Moraporvida Contemporary Dance, and The Schiff Dance Collective. These main stage artists will perform in the New & Now concert in the Byron Theatre on June 23-24, 2018. There will be additional dance activities over the weekend and throughout the year.
